INTRODUCING: Tilted with Ari | girlcriedwolf
A blog about building enriching creative projects, written by a top 1% streamer on Twitch
Welcome to Tilted, a place where we learn how to build successful side-projects and avoid the never-ending project graveyard.
My name is Ari - during the workday I lead product launches for startups, and once the sun sets I turn my purple lights on and stream video games under the username girlcriedwolf22 on Twitch. I built my stream from the ground-up with no prior experience and have grown to be in the top 1% of streamers on Twitch.
Before streaming, I embarked on dozens of side projects1, all of which ended up in a gloomy graveyard of started-but-never finished projects alongside feelings of guilt and insecurity.
So why did streaming work when all my other projects failed?
That’s what we’ll explore together with each Tilted newsletter.
Building my streaming platform has taught me so much about how to stay consistent with personal projects, build a cohesive online community, and grow confidence as a creator. Tilted is my attempt to share all that I’ve learned to help you build your own successful projects and ultimately live a life that feels authentically yours.
What to expect from Tilted
I’ll be sharing biweekly newsletters on every other Thursday. If you subscribe to Tilted, you can expect to see some of the following topics in your inbox:
How streaming has kept me accountable in ways that other projects haven’t
Navigating a perfectionist complex through streaming
Project execution 101
How to build a creative project that feels authentic
How to create an online community (and build confidence)
Reviews of books that I think are worth reading
This is only the starting point, and I’m so excited to see how the blog evolves over time.
Subscription Options
My posts will be free, with the option to pay for a subscription if you’d like to show additional support. If you’d like to receive each newsletter and follow my posts, you can also subscribe for free.

A Side Note on the Meaning of Tilted
For folks who are less familiar with gaming vernacular, “tilted” is a commonly used phrase to indicate that your emotions, self-criticism, or general negative mood are affecting your gameplay. It often happens when a player has some bad games, gets in their head, and starts playing worse, which usually only deteriorates their games further.
Tilting is the epitome of unhelpful negative self-talk. The minute we start judging our performance is exactly when our gameplay or creative work declines. Whether it’s streaming, writing a book, or posting a tiktok, personal projects require an annoyingly large amount of confidence. Reducing negative self-talk is crucial for not only starting a successful project but also sustaining it.
My hope is that together we’ll become more mindful of that self-critical voice in our heads and learn how to blend structure with confidence to build fulfilling creative projects.
As many gamers would put it, there’s simply no need to become tilted.
My graveyard includes numerous unfinished books, blogs, a job board website, a craft exchange marketplace, half-baked etsy shop ideas…the list goes on.
So excited for this blog!
